First Class Boarding Accommodation For Cats
Health Requirments
At Cat Only Bed & Breakfast, our feline guests health and comfort is a top priority. To ensure a safe environment for all our feline friends, we require each cat boarding meets the criteria listed below.
Vaccines
You cat must be fully up to date on the following core vaccines:
FVRCP: (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia): This core vaccine helps protect your cat against contagious diseases and ensures a consistent level of protection among all guests. It is an essential preventative measure for cats entering a space where there are many cats sharing an environment.
Rabies: While rare in cats, the vaccination is an essential requirement to ensure safety of other guests as well as staff.
Please Note
We do not accept last minute vaccinated cats. There must be at least 14 days between vaccination and check in to allow your cats immune system to fully recover. There are certain circumstances where this 14 day time period will be waived, please call to talk to a staff member.
We require official proof of vaccination for each cat boarding. This can be provided to us two ways:

Upload your records online securely through KennelBooker or,

Bring a printed copy from your vet at check-in.
We kindly ask that all documents be submitted in advance to avoid any delays or potential cancellation from invalid proof.
There are certain circumstances where a cat will be exempt from vaccinations, please contact us for more information on vaccination exemptions.
Flea Treatment
All cats are required to have veterinary approved flea treatment upon check in. If you cat has not had flea treatment applied prior to boarding it will be administered upon check in for a $25 fee. This is a preventative measure to ensure the safety of all guests, even cats that are strictly indoors.
Please Note
If fleas are discovered on your cat or/and on anything you have brought with your cat, you will be charged for the necessary treatments. Your cat will also have to stay in a special quarantine area with no time outside the suite. There will also be a substantive cost to you for treatment of other guests and disinfecting of surrounding areas.
Spay and Neuter Policy
To help ensure a stress-free and safe environment, we require that:

All female cats must be spayed

All male cats must be neutered
The only exception to this policy is if your cat is 6 month's of age or younger for male cats and 8 months and younger for females.
Other Health Concerns
If your cat is an outdoor cat or spends significant time outdoors exploring unsupervised, please have your cat tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) before boarding. Although the risk of transmission to other cats is low in a boarding situation, we must be made aware if your cat is positive for FIV in order for us to take the appropriate precautions.
If your cat has Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) please make us aware so that appropriate precautions can be taken. Again the risk of transmission is low in a boarding situation.
Medications are given between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm. Medications given outside of these hours may incur additional fees. Although, we are happy to administer medications, we are not set up for complicated medical conditions. While we are happy to administer medications, we are not equipped for complex medical conditions. If your cat requires extensive medical care or is difficult to handle, we recommend that they board at a veterinary facility where more specialized care can be provided. Please discuss your cat's medical needs with us prior to booking.
Instead of kennel cough vaccinations (given to dogs), it is recommended that cats get a L-Lysine supplement for about 10 days before boarding. L-Lysine is not a drug but an amino acid and is very effective in controlling the common sniffles and sneezes which cats can pick up easily. Most pet shops carry L-Lysine as treats or gel form and you get get a powder or granular form online to be mixed with food. Learn more about L-lysine here. >>
